The Invitation

A Séance, a Body

An American magnate has invited you to a centuries-old hotel in the Alps for a private séance with Madame Cassandra. Halfway through the session, the magnate drops dead. Only the people in the room could have done it.

This is our most intimate murder mystery: no teams, no spectators. Every guest is a character with a confidential file, a motive and something to hide. To get information you will have to negotiate, bribe and — politely — blackmail your colleagues.

The police lead the inquiry, but this case needs extra help: through the medium you can put your questions directly to the victim's ghost. Two professional actors, film-grade atmosphere and special effects. It is suspense, not horror — nobody gets a fright.

Your Stay

One Night, Room by Room

A team building activity for small groups where nobody can hide at the back — this is how the evening goes.

  1. Illustration of the century-old Alpine grand hotel where the murder mystery is set
Room 101A hotel with a hundred years of secrets.

    The Reservation

Days before, the organiser assigns the guests of the hotel from a private link and each colleague receives a confidential character file. Nobody knows who the others will be — or who among them is the killer.

  2. Player in character with period coat, round glasses and a cobra-headed cane at the Gran Hotel murder mystery in Barcelona
Room 102Every guest checks in with a secret.

    Check-in at the Lounge

Come smartly dressed and finish the look in our lounge: a wardrobe full of hats, jewels and accessories, and a private room to change in. By the time the door opens, the finance director is a baron with a suspicious cane.

  3. Medium Madame Cassandra leading a séance around a glowing table during the Gran Hotel murder mystery
Room 103If anyone is there, knock once.

    The Séance

Lights down, hands on the table. Madame Cassandra calls the spirits and the room answers: lights, sound and effects you don't see coming. When the candles steady again, the magnate is dead — and everyone at the table is a suspect.

  4. Illustration of a ghost pointing at the clues on the investigation table of the paranormal murder mystery
Room 104The dead have the best memory.

    Ask the Ghost

Hidden clues, secret documents and a table full of colleagues with something to hide. Trade information, buy silences, expose an alibi. And when the trail goes cold, the medium lets you question the only witness who was really there: the victim.

  5. Group of colleagues in costume pointing at the culprit after Murder at the Gran Hotel in Barcelona
Room 105Don't let them pin the body on you.

    Check-out

Each guest names a culprit, the police reconstruct the night and the truth comes out — usually pointing at whoever looked most innocent. Group photo, and a story the team will be retelling at the coffee machine.

The only witness is dead. And he is dying to talk.

What Teams Say Afterwards

★★★★★

“I've had 2 experiences with 123 Action: team building for an international group of 7 — we all enjoyed the experience and had a great time. That's why I decided to repeat and give the experience as a birthday surprise. The actors engaged everyone from Minute 1 and later they all told us how much fun they had!”

Questions Before Check-in

No. It is a suspense story with a paranormal theme, played with humour: there are no jump scares and nobody is frightened on purpose. The séance is theatre, atmosphere and special effects.
The story needs a minimum of 8 suspects (we recommend 10) and a maximum of 15, and every guest gets a character. For larger teams, ask us about the large-group version — or look at The Last Will of Mr. Collins, which hosts up to 65.
Mr. Collins is our classic 1920s case and scales to large groups. The Gran Hotel is smaller and more intense: a gothic setting, a medium, a ghost you can question and a plot in which everyone is a suspect. Teams that enjoyed one usually come back for the other.
It is more fun if you come smartly dressed, in keeping with your character. We complete the look: the lounge has a wardrobe full of accessories and props, and a room to change in.
Solving the case has a medium difficulty, but the game itself is intuitive and needs no experience: the actors guide every step. The one thing we ask is that each player reads their character file before the day.
This story is performed in Spanish or Catalan. For English-speaking or mixed international teams we recommend The Last Will of Mr. Collins, performed in native-level English.
